BRADFORD UNITED CHURCH WOMEN
UNITED CHURCH WOMEN EXECUTIVE FOR 2018
Barb Bradley-Secretary Gwen Green-President Cheryll Strong-Treasurer Helen Walker-Vice-President

Ours is a small but mighty group of women friends who meet once month, usually the first Monday of the month at 7 pm., from September until June. We usually get together less formally in the summer months, perhaps for a lunch out or a trip to a museum.
We also have a group of dedicated quilters who meet Wednesday afternoons from 1:30 to 3:30 pm. (To see quilts for sale go to Congregational Life - Quilting Group)
Our meetings consist of a time of fellowship, a short worship service and a speaker or a fun activity or craft.

The UCW does fundraising for the group and for the Church as a whole. Our biggest event is our annual Bazaar in November. Some of the funds raised are given to support our charities which include the Rainbows Programme, Sleeping Children Around the World, Helping Hands Foodbank, Community Meals, Southlake Regional Health Centre and Mission and Service Fund of the United Church of Canada.
The UCW collects:
Stamps, bread tags, eye glasses, milk bags, aluminum tabs and used batteries. Everyone's help is appreciated. Please note that the Campbell's Soup Company has discontinued collecting labels to be used to trade for special equipment in schools.

Every February the UCW organize the selection of Secret Prayer Pals. We keep our Secret Prayer Pal in our prayers and send cards on special occassions.
On February 17th, after church during coffee hour, we will have our Secret Prayer Pal exchange. If you took part in this activity, please bring a valentine addressed to your secret prayer pal. This time sign your name so that your secret pal will know who you are! On February 25th, we will pick new secret prayer pals. If you have not done this previously and would like to join please contact the organizers.
Our Vision
As United Church Women we believe: that as Christian women of faith, we nurture spirituality by reaching out with commitment and devotion to all God's people; in promoting truth, justice, peace, caring and sharing with respect for all in the community and wider world; in loving God and others by living generously and giving joyfully; and, in affirming and strengthening ourselves creatively in study and witness through music, laughter and solitude. |
Bradford UCW Purpose To unite women of the congregation for the total mission of the church and to provide a medium through which we may express our loyalty and devotion to Jesus Christ in Christian witness, study, fellowship and service. |
